Head of Recruiting

Remote (U.S.) | Full-Time | $80,000 Base + Uncapped Commission


Client Summary

Our client is a high-growth, next-generation healthcare staffing platform specializing in locum tenens physicians and advanced practice providers (APPs). The firm combines deep healthcare staffing expertise with modern technology and infrastructure to deliver a scalable, provider-first recruiting model. Their mission is to simplify the locums experience for healthcare organizations and providers alike through transparency, operational excellence, and long-term relationship building.

This is an opportunity to join a foundational leadership team and play a critical role in shaping how physician recruiting is built, scaled, and optimized.


Role Overview

The Head of Recruiting will own and scale the entire recruiting function, with responsibility for the full provider lifecycle from sourcing and credentialing to placement, retention, and redeployment. This individual will lead recruiting strategy, manage and grow the recruiting team, and serve as a key partner to sales and operations to ensure provider supply aligns with client demand.


The ideal candidate brings deep locum tenens or healthcare staffing experience, established physician relationships, and a proven ability to build high-performing recruiting teams in fast-paced environments.


Key Responsibilities

Recruiting Leadership & Strategy

  • Lead, manage, and scale the recruiting team across physicians and advanced practice providers
  • Own recruiting strategy across specialties and geographies
     
  • Build recruiting infrastructure, workflows, and performance standards
     

End-to-End Provider Lifecycle

  • Manage the full recruiting lifecycle including sourcing, screening, credentialing, placement, retention, and redeployment
     
  • Maintain long-term relationships with physicians and APPs to drive repeat placements
     
  • Leverage referral networks and industry relationships to generate consistent provider flow
     

Credentialing, Compliance & Operations

  • Oversee credentialing and compliance processes including licensure, DEA, board certification, malpractice, and hospital privileging
     
  • Ensure providers meet all regulatory and client-specific requirements
     
  • Partner with internal operations teams to streamline onboarding and placement execution
     

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with Sales and Operations to forecast provider demand by specialty and geography
     
  • Align recruiting priorities with client needs and revenue goals
     
  • Negotiate rates, assignment terms, and extensions with providers
     

Performance & Optimization

  • Track and manage recruiting KPIs including time-to-fill, fill rate, utilization, and redeployment
     
  • Continuously improve recruiting systems, tools, and processes
     
  • Drive high provider satisfaction and long-term retention
     

Compensation

  • Base Salary: $80,000
     
  • Uncapped, Tiered Commission Based on Gross Profit:

Performance based commission (Tiered, Uncapped)

 

Gross Profit        Commission Rate

$0 – $100K                   7%

$100K – $250K         12%

$250K – $400K        15%

$400K – $600K       17%

$600K+                       20%


Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of healthcare staffing or locum tenens recruiting experience
     
  • Prior experience leading or managing recruiting teams
     
  • Strong knowledge of physician credentialing and compliance requirements
     
  • Established relationships with physicians, APPs, and healthcare systems
     
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and organizational skills
     
  • Ability to manage multiple placements in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
     

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience recruiting across multiple medical specialties
     
  • Background with a regional or national locum tenens staffing firm
     
  • Experience scaling recruiting operations at an early-stage or high-growth company
     
  • Familiarity with ATS, CRM, and credentialing platforms
